A closer look at what each of our human-powered services includes.

This section provides a more in-depth look at what each of our services includes.

What it includes: This is the foundational service of converting spoken words from any audio or video content into a written text document. Our standard transcription service delivers a clean, readable text that captures all spoken dialogue accurately. It includes proper punctuation and speaker separation (for up to 2 speakers, as per standard pricing conditions). This service is ideal for creating searchable records, meeting minutes, research notes, or any instance where a written version of spoken content is required.

Key Purpose: To provide a precise textual record of verbal communication.

What it includes: Building upon transcription, our Standard Captions service provides a synchronized text representation of all spoken dialogue within your video content. These captions are designed to be toggleable (closed captions), allowing viewers to turn them on or off. The service includes the full transcription of the dialogue, precise synchronization with the audio, and formatting for optimal readability on screen. It ensures that viewers can follow the conversation even in sound-sensitive environments or with mild hearing difficulties.

Key Purpose: To make spoken dialogue accessible to a broader audience, including those who can hear but may not understand the language, or those in environments where audio is unavailable.

What it includes: This specialized service is for clients who already possess a complete and accurate transcript of their audio or video content. Our timecueing service involves meticulously synchronizing this provided text with the corresponding audio and video. We add precise timestamps to the transcript, ensuring that each line of text appears on screen in perfect alignment with the spoken words. This service is crucial for preparing content for subtitling when the transcription work has already been completed externally.

Key Purpose: To accurately time-align existing text with audiovisual content, preparing it for visual display.

What it includes: This is an enhanced form of captioning specifically designed for the viewers with partial or complete hearing loss (SDH) audience. Specifically, beyond transcribing spoken dialogue, SDH Basic includes essential non-speech elements that are crucial for comprehension. This service provides:

  • Dialogue Transcription: All spoken words.

  • Speaker Identification: Clear labeling of who is speaking (e.g., “JOHN:”, “SPEAKER 1:”).

  • Basic Music Tags: Simple descriptions of music (e.g., [applause], [music playing], [laughter], [doorbell rings], or [explosion]).

This level focuses on providing critical auditory context without overly detailed descriptions, making the content accessible and understandable.

Key Purpose: To provide comprehensive accessibility for viewers with partial or complete hearing loss by including essential non-speech audio cues.

What it includes: This is our most comprehensive SDH service, offering the highest level of detail and immersion for viewers with partial or complete hearing loss. Indeed, it encompasses all elements of SDH Basic, plus:

  • Detailed Sound Effect Descriptions: Meticulous descriptions of relevant sound effects (e.g., [door creaks], [phone ringing], [glass shatters]), but only when necessary for understanding the scene. Conversely, obvious or trivial sounds (like footsteps when walking is visible) are excluded to maintain readability.

  • Nuanced Music Descriptions: More descriptive musical cues (e.g., (ominous music swells), (jazz music plays softly)).

  • Speaker’s Emotion/Tone Descriptions: Interpretive descriptions of a speaker’s tone of voice or emotional cues (e.g., (whispering), (angrily), (sighs)), when essential for understanding character intent or subtext.

This service provides the fullest possible textual representation of the auditory experience, ensuring a complete understanding of the content’s atmosphere and emotional depth.

Key Purpose: To deliver the most immersive and detailed accessibility experience, conveying all critical auditory and emotional nuances.
